Errr, 2State1Mountain

So, after my total mental meltdown (see previous post), I had a come to jebus meeting in my mind, with my coach and training partner. We all determined that a good effort at 100K was going to do more for us physically and mentally than a piss poor 100miles...not to mention set us up better for our half iron next weekend. There it is. I'm not proud that I dropped ~38ish miles off my planned ride but it WAS a good, prudent and smart decision. Thankfully, in all of this, I've never felt physically spent, just the mental games. The BEST part...I had a GREAT ride, had FUN, enjoyed myself and that was what I needed. I wanted to WANT to do this, I wanted to be excited about racing, not 'over it.' I got that and more. Rather than 3State3Mountains, I did 2State1Mountain but at least I got to ride SUCK Creek (Mountain). That was the one I really wanted to hit anyway, 5 miles of UP and I just wanted to ride it because it's SUCK Creek.

Roadies...or is it men? I don't know if it's a roadie thing or a man thing but as soon as Team Endurance decided to pass 'them' on Suck Creek, they got all snarky.
OK, DUUUDE, I'm not going to sit here and say - On your left - for the next 20 minutes. Either get the effe over so people can pass (riding 4-5 abreast) or I'm just going to roll right up your arm. Tell me to announce myself - on your front, see ya! THENNN, another group decides to just cluster in the road, no organization, just a clump of riders. Again, we pass this 14mph crew and suddenly, they get 'organized' ... right behind us, sucking our wheel, feel the need to tell us to hold on to 20mph and that we're doing great. Eat shit douchebag and take your turn or I'm going to tell all your friends that two chicks just beat your ass. This is just the good stuff. The rest of the ride was less eventful, oh, but I did ride through some gravel, recover, NOT fall down to a collective, ooohhhhh, in front of 20-30 people. I may not be the smoothest in the world and be a tri person (known for no bike handling skills) but I made it just fine, thank you very much. The picture above was taken after my recovery but before the floods and tornadoes hit Tennessee. What a nightmare! At least one person in this picture's house is under water...maybe more. We are lucky to only have some water damage to some drywall and windows, but I digress. And yes, I'm totally sucking in my gut and pushing out my chest for effect.

So here's DaBiches, done, fun, and ready for REV3 this weekend. After that Triple T or BUST baby! All we could think about this weekend was - how the hell are we going to feel after race #3??? Only one way to find out...

Glad to hear you are feeling better! And nice job for being able to dial the workout down to an enjoyable level - there is a fine line between pushing and pushing it too far. You've found that balance - congrats! And good luck!

hahaha ... that is great. Nothing bothers me more than the roadies 3-4 abreast ...arrrgghhh. And then they make it seem like you have have somehow gone against the "rules of the road" by blowing past them with warning. "Ah, douchebags, you're gonna get past when ya ride around like you are on a beach cruiser ...now move asshat!"

Guys are Douchebags. Some of us are more likeable than others.

Nice ride. No shame in not going longer. As for having to pass, then pull a throng of roadies, shame on them. I hope you gals pulled away and dropped the bunch.

Thank you for punking the roadie boys that think their chamois don't stink (and believe me boys, they f-ing do!)

You look so adorable! To be so hardcore and so damn cute at the same time breaks the "no girl so be so gifted rule." You know the one that says you get either nice tits OR a nice ass, or if you happen to get both then you have to be stupid, or a bitch, or both.

I will let you slide because you have adorable dogs, but I am watching you. If I find out that you won the Nobel Prize, save orphans in Somalia, or make your own Christmas gifts, you are out of the girl club!

Nice work, congrats!!! I am impressed

So many things would have irked me

- 5 wide!!! Ridiclous

- Telling you to keep pulling, they should just give their bikes away, they are not cyclist.

- Rides like this should be all about team work, saving your legs for the climbs, not selfish a-holes.

I am glad you out rode them

Hey, I leave for Utah and a black hole (the IM black hole) and come back to learn there is some water issues in Nashville. What's with that?
