Tagged Twicet

I have been tagged twicet (that's how we say it in da souf, twice-T)...once by Leana and once by Amanda. All were random things about me, one was six and the other was ten. We'll see how far I get, I'm pretty sure you're sick of MY randomness. I will steal Leana's idea and do 6-10 random things that make me cry.

  1. Thinking about my mom, like really thinking about all the things I missed out on with her. The things I should have had - she should have been at my wedding, she should have helped me move into my house, shoulda, shoulda, shoulda. I cry when I think about the other things I have lost, what she smells like and what her voice sounds like. Her laugh, man, we did laugh...
  2. Staring at pictures of old Kasha girl and thinking about her swimming with me all those summers.
  3. Losing my dad. He's the last bit of immediate family I have, he's all I got. Just me and him, him and me, we are the end of the family line.
  4. The beginning of the animated movie - UP. OK, this is a kids movie and I'm sure they didn't get it but that little old guy losing his little old wife who couldn't make babies. That killed me. I know, animated.
  5. A bike ride after 2 hours with bad - old shorts. That can bring a tear, fo' reals.
  6. When I had a level 4 (?) sprain on my right ankle two years ago. I was running on New Years Eve 2008. It was my first, easy, post Ironman run and I rolled on this rock. I still have it. It was a clear day, perfectly clear. I was looking up for cars not down for rocks. I rolled, it popped, I cried, I pulled of my shoe and threw it, cried some more, ran into the middle of the street to get this daYum rock. Little Bitch.
  7. That ASPCA commercial with all the homeless dogs. I got to flip it.
  8. When I get overwhelmed by life - looking at my training schedule in the month of April, that makes me cry or it will make me cry. I'm not there yet but I will be - the kind of day that starts at 345-4am, deal with dogs and puppy (yay), get in a long run, home, shower, eat, work all day, swim, home, kiss husband, kiss a dog and go to bed. It's those kinds of days that make me cry. Pure exhaustion.
  9. I can laugh so hard that I cry. This does not happen often. I actually made someone laugh so hard at work that they cried today. That brings me joy like you can't imagine.
  10. Yeah, I think think that's all I got, I only got nine...I guess that's a good thing!

Why have you not thrown that rock through a window yet!?!? :) That homeless dog kills me as well. Whenever I hear 'in the arms of an angel' I have to turn the freaking channel. And to think I used to actually like that song.

Great list.
The thing with your Mom and missing her voice, I got lucky with that. When I was a kid we used to send a cassette tape down to my grandparents in TX of just everyday things in our lives and then they would send one back of their lives. I had those tapes put on a CD and I listen to the voices of my Mom and her parents whenever I want! It's SO, SO awesome and brings a frickin' tear EVERY time! I have a huge keepsake in those CD's and they are stored very carefully!!!
On another note...your April looks absolutely sick!

Nice list. It's good to sometimes let the taps open and cry. And to cry after laughing so hard you have to cry is wonderful. Especially when you do it with or to someone else.

Great list!

I have to agree about UP. I watched it the first time a couple weeks ago, thinking that this would be the one where Pixar starting going downhill. Wow! It ranks up there with all the other Pixar movies.

This *list* almost made me cry! That's a beautiful picture of your mom. I've seen it before and I swear she gets more beautiful every time. Your dad is a very handsome one too! You obvioulsy hit the jackpot in the gene pool.

UP - havn't seen, but I really want to. Damn animated movies. They always make me cry. Finding Nemo. Ugh!

The last object that caused me to roll my ankle was a piece of tree limb that looked like an innocent leaf... bastard...I threw it while screaming after I fell!
That ASPCA commercial gets me too. I always hug my furry ones when it comes on.
Have a great weekend!

My kids couldn't understand why I was bawling at the beginning of UP. I'm lucky to have the two I have, but it killed me to remember the ones we lost.

I'm totally a laugh till you cry kind of girl. I'm sadly also a laugh till you pee your pants kind of girl. I thank my kids for that.

Is it just me or is the point of those heart-wrenching SPCA/Human Society commercials sort of a waste tears... I mean, the only people who are really moved by these commercials are those of us already doing everything we can for animals - we don't need commercials to make us cry in order to help! /rant off lol I just hate seeing these commercials :(

That is a very thought provoking list. I didn't realize you had lost your mom. I am so sorry. She looks like she has a great laugh.

On a different note, keeping that rock is hilarious.

Would it make me a heinous monster if one or two of the things that make you cry make me LAUGH?

Alrighty, then. No laughter here, then. Not so much as a chuckle.
