2010 Schedule Preview

Read it and weep...I know I did. This, apparently, is the year of the hills for me. Thankfully, they're not hard to find around here. I have lots of work to do.

Season Opener - Tom King Half Marathon - March 13, Nashville. I would like to say that this will be my PR attempt for the year at a 1:45. We will have to see. Typically, this is the day of the perfect storm in Tennessee OR I am 'spring' sick with allergies.

Powerman Duathlon - estimated - April 18. This date is not posted yet but it's 8K run - 53K bike - 8K run in Birmingham, AL.

3 State 3 Mountain - May 1, Chattanooga. It is what it says and it makes me want to cry....it is a 100 mile bike ride that crosses three mountains. You know you want a ride a mountain called Suck Creek. Waaaahaaaaa!

REV3 Knoxville - May 8, Oly or Half IM, not sure yet. This is a week after 3S3M so it will depend upon if I am alive or not.

Triple T Ohio - May 21-23 - This might be my dumbest idea ever. Besides four races in three days, I have to wear the race issued singlet. GAWD!

End of May - buy Missy a puppy - y'all know I'm a sucker for a Boxer. This will keep me busy and allow me to enjoy the 'end' of my 2010 season. Told ya I wouldn't be so stupid this year. Late season races can suck it!
So there it is, for now. Training will start in earnest Jan. 4, 2010...and so will my boycott of all things bad for me. I have a freakin race singlet to get into!

Ouch on the mountain race. Boxers are so sweet. I like them too.

One question. What do you mean by PR? I'm not good with english abbreviations.

Cheers and beautiful holidays, before I forget it later.

Cute puppies. A friend of mine has a boxer named Winston. The dog is treated better than my kids, I swear.

Everytime I make up my mind to swear off bad food and booze, I fall off the wagon. This week has potential to be BAAAAD!!!!

Definitely a tough lineup! Sounds like it'll be a great year of training though. I'm very curious about the singlet.

What, nothing in Calgary? I am crushed. Looking forward to reading about your season. Have fun!

Boxers that size ARE cute, I admit it. But they end up big enough that an object the size of your head is a crunchy treat for them.

3 State 3 Mountain is the same day as IM St Geo. If it wasn't it would be a great training ride for St George, too bad..

Sounds like a great season ahead of you.

Can't wait to see lots of puppy pictures.

there is no way you are going to be able to end your season in may and not drive yourself crazy for the rest of the year. puppies or no puppies.

Oh ya... You'll fit into that race singlet if you are a dried up husk, having died on that CRAZY three mountains ride :-)

I've got Rev3 on my radar too, but it looks like Dee Dee is working that weekend. I may go with something cheaper.

I ran Tom King Classic last year (its my current PR half). I will likely be in CA this year, but if I am not, I will be in Nashville, and would LOVE to meet you! Your race calender looks challenging but tons of fun!

weird, i dont see any races in the new england area. please revise this schedule. xoxo

Puppies on a race calendar - that is living! A race issued singlet could be bad, but you will be ready in time. No worries. Share a picture of the singlet if you get one.

I kinda want to do the Rev3 race. Hmmm

Looks like an aggressive schedule -- you are going to have a great time. Getting that plan together will definitely help you plan your training so that you are peaking at the right time!
